The following steps will either resolve the issue or give you information to provide to support to help them in resolving the issue for you:
On Windows Vista, 2008, and 7:
- Click the Start Button.
- Type "cmd" without quotes.
- When "CMD Shell" or "cmd.exe" shows up near the top, right-click on it and choose Run as administrator.
- Go to the section labeled For all operating systems.
On Windows XP, 2000, and 2003:
- Click the Start Button.
- Click on Run.
- Type "cmd" without quotes and hit enter.
- Go to the section labeled For all operating systems.
For all operating systems:
- In the command prompt window:
-
- If using a 32-bit version of Windows:
- Type the following and hit enter: cd c:\program files\muvaudio3\mvc\
- Then either copy and paste or type the following and hit enter: wdmdrvmgrx86.exe -i EuMusDesign_VAC_WDM_jrm vacjrmkd.inf
- If using a 64-bit version of Windows:
- Type the following and hit enter: cd c:\program files (x86)\muvaudio3\mvc\
- Then either copy and paste or type the following and hit enter: wdmdrvmgrx64.exe -i EuMusDesign_VAC_WDM_jrm vacjrmkd.inf
- When prompted, make sure to approve the installation of the MuvEnum Virtual Cables.
If you receive any error messages such as
"Device for EuMusDesign_VAC_WDM_jrm already installed", you will need to run the above command from either step 5 or 9 replacing the
-i with a
-r to remove the current faulty installation (e.g.
wdmdrvmgrx86.exe -r EuMusDesign_VAC_WDM_jrm vacjrmkd.inf) and then after a few moments, run the command with the
-i from step 5 or 9
to install the MuvEnum Virtual Cable successfully.
If you continue to receive an error or warning message, please
submit a support request with the error information so that support may help you troubleshoot the issue further.
If you are using Windows XP or 2003 Server and you continue to receive the error, you may need to do the following:
- Right-click on "My Computer" and click on "Properties" to open your "System Properties".
- Then click on the "Hardware" tab and click on "Driver Signing".
- Make sure that "Warn" is selected and not "Block" or the installation for "MuvEnum Virtual Cable" will never run.
- You can also check the "Make this action the system default" for future installation purposes.
- Click "Ok" to close this window.
- Once you have changed this, please rerun the MuvAudio installation and the installation for "MuvEnum Virtual Cable" should run and you should be able to now use MuvAudio.
If the above does not fix the issue and you get the following prompts when installing the software:
This means that the driver.cab and/or sp2.cab file(s) are missing from your Windows\Driver Cache\i386 folder. When you get the prompts, you will need to point them to the correct location of the files that they are requesting (the pictures above show the correct paths to each file). Instructions for doing this are listed below:
Instructions:
- If you see the Files Needed prompt, click on the Browse... button.
- Navigate to your Windows directory, then to the System32 directory.
- In the box below Copy files from: it should list c:\windows\system32 (The 'c:\' is the drive where Windows is located and may be different on your machine)
- Click OK
- Now, if you see the Copy Error prompt, click on the Browse... button.
- Navigate to your Windows directory, then to the System32 directory, and then to the Drivers directory.
- In the box below Copy files from: it should list c:\windows\system32\drivers (The 'c:\' is the drive where Windows is located and may be different on your machine)
- If there are multiple prompts, continue pointing to the c:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\system32\drivers directories until no more errors show up.
- Once no more prompts are shown, you have completed the manual steps to install the MuvEnum Virtual Cable successfully and should be able to run MuvAudio.
